But it was decided that the show would be too much for the city to deal with so it never came to be. Yes, the new Rose Wagner Theater(s) are the premiere venues for new (non-musical) stage plays and dance concerts, local material or national tours, in Salt Lake City. It's also a Sundance film festival venue.
That would be the top-notch venue to perform at in Salt Lake; CONFESSIONS OF A MORMON BOY started there in the black box and sold out.
Nudity on-stage is legal in UT. I don't know about penetrative porn pics in the backdrop, however.
That Tom producer guy actually told me he was considering getting funds to stage MAKING PORN in Park City at the Egyptian Theater as opposed to Salt Lake. Park City has no visible gay community and this producer's experience is at Salt Lake Acting Company in SLC, but maybe he would need their money.

I left the Mormon church as a teenager; always resisted it. I never went on a mission, got married, etc. like many Mormon guys.
