I'm Ruined

I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna go see one of the movies currently playing that I have no interest in. It's free popcorn Tuesday here in Oceanside, so I can't resist. After reading this quote, I'm sold:

"Gore hounds will definitely be pleased as The Ruins boasts some of the most sickening blood and guts this side of snuff films."

I'm there! I'll let you know how it goes.

That movie is a sufficient thriller, pretty creative and great-looking for a B-horror movie.

But the part where they reveal the "cell phone-ringing flower" is the campiest moment I've seen in a new film since Stewart Townsend released a granny hostage from the trunk of Kevin Bacon's car in TRAPPED, whom they had forgotten about since the first reel.

The gratuitous "Third Tazer Shot" Wes Bentley gives the heroine in P2 might also give RUINS' "Singing Flower" a run for its money, but still only a runner-up.

One of the greatest belly laughs I've had in a while!

By the way, I love the lingering, shirtless posing RUINS has of Jonathan Tucker. He's really turned out to be a hottie.
