I'm Ruined

I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna go see one of the movies currently playing that I have no interest in. It's free popcorn Tuesday here in Oceanside, so I can't resist. After reading this quote, I'm sold:

"Gore hounds will definitely be pleased as The Ruins boasts some of the most sickening blood and guts this side of snuff films." 

I'm there! I'll let you know how it goes. 

No More Movies

I've driven by our local cineplex three times but I can't seem to drag
myself in. I dont remember such a depressing period before in terms of
movies. There is literally nothing to see! The only thing I'm remotely
interested in is 88 minutes and my friend is begging me not to go,
says its awful. I'm also interested in Deception, too but it only has
an 8% on RottenTomatoes.com. When is Batman coming to save us all?????

I did see Prom Night. It's actually an intersting conversation piece
but no one I know saw it and therefore the conversation would be one-
sided.

The filmmakers of Prom Night either hate white people or black people
but I couldn't figure out which one! And no I'm not kidding. But it's
too complicated to explain if you haven't seen it and I don't feel
like writing a thesis about Prom Night on my iPhone!

Prom Night is anti-cop though for sure! The cops do everything wrong
and only the black cop in the last scene saves the day and inly after
after all the other white cops are killed.

And they blatantly lift 20 minutes, beat for beat, out of Silence of
the Lambs, (my second favorite film of all time after Jaws). It's
blatant theft, grand larceny...it so pissed me off and they lost me
after that!

Time Heals Everything

The single worst theatrical experience of my entire life was my play,
Sleeping With Straight Men, off-Broadway. A total nightmare from day
one. Thankfully, I barely remember the names of most of the people
involved in that fiasco but I do remember the name of the producer,
Jared Scott. Jared was involved in three of my shows in SF before we
headed to NYC together! We had a flawless relationship before NYC but
after arriving in New York, everything went south in a big way! We
reconciled a few years after and last Sunday we had a lovely two hour
conversation. The past is the past and I think we're both able to look
back now and laugh, a little. My only good memory of the entire
production was going to see Final Destination 2, with my friend
Joseph, while the cast were performing on "opening night". I heard the
opening night party was fun but you couldn't have paid me to go!

Anyway, Jared and I are friends again and Jerry Herman was right: Time
Heals Everything.

When I said you could come down anytime I didn't actually mean you can
come down anytime. Its a figure of speech!

Pissing Off David

David let a bunch of guys pee on him last night in a bathroom in a San
Diego bar! It was very interesting to see. While watching, I whispered
to the guy next to me, "you don't see that everyday", to which he
replied, "you do in here!"

I asked David if I could put him on my blog and he said, "sure". Then
I asked him how he gets home all soaking wet. He keeps a change of
clothes in the trunk if his car.
